JOIN US FOR WORSHIP THIS SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, AT 10:30 AM:
Join us this Sunday, September 15, at 10:30 AM, for the next sermon in our new series, Acts: Gospel Unhindered, as we look at Acts 1:12-26.

Please note: Calvary is meeting at Lynn Road Elementary School, while the church undergoes renovations. We will not have Equipping Class or Sunday school while at LRES.

NEW SERMON SERIES – ACTS: GOSPEL UNHINDERED:
On the cusp of another football season, NFL teams are gearing up to stop the New England Patriots and their 42-year-old quarterback, Tom Brady from making yet another run toward a world championship.  Yet, to listen to media pundits predict the season’s results before the first snap, one might think no matter what their opponents do, that team from the Northeast will be unhindered, once again lifting a trophy in February.

In 2019, it may seem that the Gospel has insurmountable opponents, looking to finally stop it in its tracks: apathy, decreased church attendance, decreased trust in the Bible’s authority, and widespread persecution of the church across the globe are just a few examples.  This is why we need the Book of Acts today.  Join us as we explore the explosive growth of the early church and the spread of the Gospel in the face of severe opposition.  The same Holy Spirit at work in and through His church in Acts is at work today, ensuring us of a Gospel Unhindered.

NURSERY ON SUNDAY MORNING CARES FOR AGES 0 – 4: We love children at Calvary! We count it a privilege to serve the youngest in our midst and their families. Nursery on Sunday morning cares for little ones ages 0 – 4 during the entire 10:30 AM worship service.

NURSERY SAFETY: Calvary seeks to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all nursery workers (paid and volunteer) and children. As a precaution and to ensure strict accountability from one adult to another, we have instituted Ministry Safe Child-Protection Training. All active Calvary elders, nursery, children and youth workers must undergo a background check process, and child-protection training through Ministry Safe. For a complete list of Nursery safeguards, visit: calvarypca.org/nursery.

TWO SEPTEMBER SEMINARS ON SHEPHERDING, PARENTING & PROTECTING CHILDREN: Parents and caregivers need wisdom and encouragement, no matter the ages and stages of those in their care. As an experienced counselor of children and families, and an adoptive and foster mom applying the CCEF model of biblical change, Julie Lowe will use Scripture and biblical wisdom to teach attendees how to know their children and specifically love them with the love of Christ. Held at Church of the Good Shepherd in Durham (3741 Garrett Road, Durham 27707) and Sponsored by Hope Counseling Services in partnership with Christ Community Church. $25 for one seminar, $45 for both.

Protecting the Vulnerable: Preventing and Responding to Abuse
Friday, Sept. 20, 2-5 PM.
This seminar will be helpful to counselors, church leaders, or any care giver who works closely with children.

Childproof: Parenting by Faith, Not Formula
Saturday, Sept. 21, 9 AM – 12:30 PM.
This will equip parents (and leaders working with parents) on what gospel-centered parenting looks like and how best to shepherd our children in a way that points them to the gospel and appreciates the uniqueness of each child.

Registration now open at: hopechapelhill.org/events

MID-DAY REVIVAL PRAYER, WEDNESDAYS, 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM:
Come join the small group that faithfully gathers at 11:30 AM for one hour of Revival Prayer each Wednesday, so that Calvary would truly be a House of Prayer for all the Nations! Please email office@calvarypca.org if you would like to attend.
