SONGS OF ADORATION & PRAISE
Christ the Lord Is Risen Today
“Christ the Lord is ris’n today,” Al- -le-lu–ia!
Sons of men and angels say;
Al- -le-lu–ia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high; Al- -le-lu–ia!
Sing ye heav’ns, and
earth, reply. Al- -le-lu–ia!
Vain the stone, the watch, the seal; Al- -le-lu–ia!
Christ has burst the gates of hell: Al- -le-lu–ia!
Death in vain forbids his rise; Al- -le-lu–ia!
Christ has opened paradise. Al- -le-lu–ia!
Lives again our glorious King; Al- -le-lu–ia!
Where, O death, is now thy sting? Al- -le-lu–ia!
Once he died, our souls to save; Al- -le-lu–ia!
Where thy victory, O grave? Al- -le-lu–ia!
Soar we now where Christ has led, Al- -le-lu–ia!
Foll’wing our exalted Head; Al- -le-lu–ia!
Made like him, like him we rise; Al- -le-lu–ia!
Ours the cross, the grave, the skies, Al- -le-lu–ia!
Hail, the Lord of earth and heav’n!
Al- -le-lu–ia!
Praise to thee by both be giv’n;
Al- -le-lu–ia!
Thee we greet triumphant now; Al- -le-lu–ia!
Hail, the Resurrection, thou! Al- -le-lu–ia!
Living Hope – Johnson & Wickham
How
great the chasm that lay between us
How
high the mountain I could not climb
In
desperation I turned to heaven
And
spoke Your name into the night
Then
through the darkness Your loving-kindness
Tore
through the shadows of my soul
The
work is finished the end is written
Jesus
Christ my living hope
Who
could imagine so great a mercy
What
heart could fathom such boundless grace
The
God of ages stepped down from glory
To
wear my sin and bear my shame
The
cross has spoken I am forgiven
The
King of kings calls me His own
Beautiful
Savior I’m Yours forever
Jesus
Christ my living hope
CHORUS:
Hallelujah
praise the One who set me free
Hallelujah
death has lost its grip on me
You
have broken every chain
There’s
salvation in Your name
Jesus
Christ my living hope
(repeat all)
Then
came the morning that sealed the promise
Your
buried body began to breathe
Out
of the silence the Roaring Lion
Declared
the grave has no claim on me
(repeat all)
Jesus
Yours is the victory
CHORUS
Jesus
Christ my living hope
Oh
God You are my living hope
PRAYER
OF CONFESSION AND HOPE
From “Resurrection” in
The Valley of Vision
Leader:
O God of Our Exodus, great was the joy of Israel’s sons, when Egypt died upon
the shore, far greater the joy when the Redeemer’s foe lay crushed in the dust.
All: Jesus strides
forth as the victor, conqueror of death, hell, and all opposing might;
Leader:
He bursts the bands of death, tramples the powers of darkness down, and lives
forever.
All: Give me the assurance
that in Christ I died, in Him I rose, in His life I live, in His victory I
triumph, in His ascension I shall be glorified.
Leader:
Adorable Redeemer, You who were lifted
up upon a cross are ascended to the highest heaven.
All: You, who as Man
of Sorrows were crowned with thorns, are now as Lord of Life wreathed with
glory.
Leader:
Once, no shame more deep than Yours, no agony more bitter,
no death more cruel.
All: Now, no
exaltation more high, no life more glorious, no
advocate more effective.
Leader:
You are in the triumph car leading captive Your enemies behind You.
All: What more could
be done than You have done! Your death is my life, Your resurrection my peace,
Your ascension my hope, Your prayers my comfort.
ASSURANCE
OF PARDON
1
Corinthians 15:54-57
Leader:
Death has been swallowed up in victory. “Where, O death, is your
victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” The sting of death is sin,
and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the
victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
SONG OF THANKS
Christ Is Risen, He Is Risen Indeed – Cash, Getty & Getty
How can it
be the One who died
Has borne
our sin through sacrifice
To conquer
every sting of death
Sing sing hallelujah
When
Christ’s disciples lift their eyes
Alive He
stands their Friend and King
Christ Christ He is risen
CHORUS:
Christ is
risen He is risen indeed
Oh sing hallelujah
Join the
chorus sing with the redeemed
Christ is
risen He is risen indeed
Where
doubt and darkness once had been
They saw
Him and their hearts believed
But
blessed are those who have not seen
Yet sing
hallelujah
Once bound by fear now
bold in faith
They preached the truth and power of grace
And pouring out their lives they gained
Life life everlasting
CHORUS
The power that raised
Him from the grave
Now works in us to
powerfully save
He frees our hearts to
live His grace
Go tell of His goodness
CHORUS (2 times)
He’s alive (He’s alive)
He’s alive (He’s alive)
Heaven’s gates are
opened wide
He’s alive (He’s alive)
He’s alive (He’s alive)
Now in
heaven glorified
(repeat
all)
CHORUS (2
times)

SONG
OF REFLECTION
Death Was Arrested – Kersh,
Coker, Balltzglier & Taylor Smith
Alone in my sorrow and dead in my sin
Lost without hope and no place to begin
Your love made a way to let mercy come in
When death was arrested and
my life began
Ash was redeemed only beauty remains
My orphan heart was given a name
My mourning grew quiet my feet rose to dance
When death was arrested and
my life began
CHORUS:
Oh Your grace so free washes over me
You have made me new now life begins with You
It’s Your endless love pouring down on us
You have made us new now life begins with You
Released from my chains I’m a pris’ner
no more
My shame was a ransom He faithfully bore
He cancelled my debt and He
called me His friend
When death was arrested and
my life began
CHORUS
Our Savior displayed on a criminal’s cross
Darkness rejoiced as though Heaven had lost
But then Jesus arose with our freedom in hand
That’s when death was arrested
and my life began
CHORUS
Oh we’re free, free, forever we’re free
Come join the song of all the redeemed
Yes we’re free, free, forever amen
When death was arrested and
my life began
(repeat all)
When
death was arrested and my life began
When
death was arrested and my life began
CONFESSION OF FAITH
Nicene Creed
Leader:
Christian, what do you believe?
All:
I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of
all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all
worlds; God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God; begotten, not made,
being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made. Who,
for us people and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate
by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary, and was made man; and was crucified also
for us under Pontius Pilate; He suffered and was buried; and the third day He
rose again, according to the Scriptures; and ascended into heaven, and sits on
the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again, with glory, to judge the
quick and the dead; whose kingdom shall have no end.
And
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life; who proceeds from the
Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and
glorified; who spoke by the prophets.
And
I believe in one holy catholic* and apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism
for the remission of sins; and I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the
life of the world to come. Amen.

SACRAMENT
OF COMMUNION
COMMUNION
SONG
Behold the Lamb – Getty,
Getty & Townend
Behold the Lamb who bears our sins
away
Slain for us – and we remember
The promise made that all who come
in faith
Find forgiveness at the cross
So we share in this bread of life
And we drink of His sacrifice
As a sign of our bonds of peace
Around the table of the King
The body of our Savior Jesus Christ
Torn for you – eat and remember
The wounds that heal, the death that
brings us life
Paid the price to make us one
So we share in this bread of life
And we drink of His sacrifice
As a sign of our bonds of love
Around the table of the King
The blood that cleanses every stain
of sin
Shed for you – drink and remember
He drained death’s cup that all may
enter in
To receive the life of God
So we share in this bread of life
And we drink of His sacrifice
As a sign of our bonds of grace
Around the table of the King
And so with
thankfulness and faith we rise
To respond – and to remember
Our call to follow in the steps of
Christ
As His body here on earth
As we share in His suffering
We proclaim Christ will come again
And we’ll join in the feast of
heaven
Around
the table of the King
