Wes Martin started at Calvary in 2024. He grew up on a small farm outside Tahlequah, Oklahoma, completely unchurched, and an atheist by 18. Wes went to the University of Oklahoma where he received a Bachelor’s and Master’s of Music; but, more importantly, after a story that involves playing trumpet on cruise ships, C.S. Lewis, multiple hernias, and RUF Summer Conference, Wes met Jesus and became a Christian through OURUF when he was 21. Wes also met Kaitlin through OURUF, and after a very rocky start (and a story worth telling), they married in May 2010, and have five kids. Wes was encouraged by his church and RUF Campus Minister to go to seminary and graduated from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis in 2015, and was ordained in the PCA that same year. He previously served as the RUF Campus Minister at the University of Utah, a solo pastor in Canada, a drug and and alcohol rehab counselor and chaplain, and as an assistant pastor at churches in Oklahoma. Wes loves playing complex board games (Eurogames), watching good characters, reading, and playing trumpet whenever possible.
